Hotel
Portsonachan is steeped in history and the Clan Campbell stronghold
of Kilchurn Castle stands at the north eastern end of Loch Awe. The location of the
hotel offers glorious views of the loch and the mighty Ben Cruachan.
When you want to relax, read a book or just enjoy a quiet drink, the conservatory offers a truly spectacular view of the east side and northern end of the loch. From the conservatory you can see Ben Cruchan, also called the Hollow Mountain, due to the hydro electric dam. The dam is located halfway up the mountain and we recommend that guests take a closer look at this marvel of engineering.
The Hotel has nineteen en-suite bedrooms in total (each with wireless internet access), as well as 10 Lochside Suites, with a mixture of family, double and twin rooms available. There are five superior rooms that directly overlook the beautiful Loch Awe.
Guests of the hotel, Lochside Lodges and the Coach House may also take advantage of our 24 hour room service for light meals and sandwiches, charged at £12.50 per service visit.
Rates start from £70 per night for a Standard Room, £86 for a Superior Loch View Room and £96 for a Lochside Suite all inclusive of a full Scottish Breakfast for two adults served in the Lochside conservatory.
If you need any extra beds for children placed in the room, tell us in advance and our staff will be happy to make the arrangements.
Guest Lounge
Our guest lounge is a comfortable and cosy area where you can browse through our library, sit and play board games or just relax in front of the fire. To the right is the entrance way to our hotel. The patio area, just outside the door can also be accessed from the conservatory.
